Lace Closure and Lace Frontal are so useful in order to create beautiful sew in installations. They nearly have the same purposes, which is mainly to close off an install. They both eliminate the need for blending. They are all made of Vietnamese lace. There are several similar and apart from these, they also have several differences that we will discuss in this blog post.

First of all, what is Lace Frontal

A frontal goes from ear to ear, so the entire front is covered. 13×4 Lace Frontal is the standard size. The frontal can be held in different styles and you can hold the hair back whereas the closure cannot be held back.

What is Lace Closure

A lace closure is different from a frontal because it does not cover your head from temple to temple. They are hairpieces where hair strands are tied on a beige or dark brown lace. Lace closures are a few inches wide and they are applied where the hair would have been left to give a natural look on heads that have wigs on. The closure can be placed anywhere where the illusion of a part would like to be achieved be it at the center or side of the head’s front. Closures can be glued in place or sewn in

What is the similar between a Frontal and Closure

Hair extensions are meant to make the hair look better. When wearing a weave or a wig some people choose to leave some hair at the front. This can be to the side or at the middle depending on the desired style. Constant heat needs to be applied on the small chunk of hair to make it blend with the weave. As you know with heat application every now and then hair damage occurs. To keep all your hair intact and away from damage is the main function of lace closures and lace frontal.

What are the differences between them

The most obvious difference between a lace closure and a lace frontal is their respective sizes.  Lace Frontal size is normally 13*4 inch. Lace frontals are bigger mainly because they run temple to temple to cover the entire hairline. Lace closures’ size is 4*4 inch and sit either perfectly in the middle of the crown or can be shifted slightly to the side to achieve a side-part look.

Another dissimilarity between lace closure and lace frontal is that lace closures are sewn into place while lace frontals are normally bonded in place. While both can be placed either in front or behind the hairline, lace frontals are commonly placed in front of the hairline usually because they are bonded.

Last but not least, lace frontals allow for endless versatility, so you can wear any color, curl pattern, cut or style. Closures only cover a portion of your head, so it’s close to impossible to pull your hair back without exposing your tracks.
